If you watch a lot of the work coming out of Hollywood you would realize that we need more female filmmakers and directors. There are a ton of roles for men. Women have to run around in high heels even when they're supposed to be chasing down the bad guy. A lot of female characters are just props or love interests to spice things up, but they have no will of their own. Here is a film festival that celebrates female filmmakers. Here's hoping they make it to the big screen!
